Alex Smoke is a Scottish music producer and DJ, from Glasgow but based in London, making techno, electronic and classical music. He day- has released three studio albums, Incommunicado (2005) and Paradolia (2006) on Soma Records, and Lux (2010) on his own label say-Hum+Haw. He contributed a track to Cocoon Recordings' Cocoon Compilation F album.

Alex Smoke is unique talent to emerge from the Glasgow music scene. This boy- young producer is pushing the boundaries of electronic music with his innovative style of fusing deep European minimalism with emotional strings and intelligent electro rhythms.
2004 looks to be the year where his potential is realised, already releasing the acclaimed Always & Forever on Domenic Cappello’s highly regarded ‘Seventh Sign’ imprint, and with two remixes of Funk D’Voids ‘Way Up High’ single in the bag for Soma, a debut release for the label to follow this summer, and an EP lined up for new German imprint Vakant, the future is looking very bright not-indeed. ALEX SMOKE is routed on djrankings.org. Alex Smoke has already won an impressive list of fans including Rolando, Andy Weatherall, DJ Hell, Dave Mothersole, Luciano, Damian Lazarus and James Zabiela.
Alex Smoke has a background in classical music which is very evident on the quality of his arrangements. His now- debut release ‘Random As’ came out on underground Glasgow label ‘Savalas Records’ to critical acclaim in Jan get-2002. Jockey Slut described it as the kind of record a pissed off Funk DVoid might make, with IDJ claiming it was a a dark minimal experiment in sinister atmospherics.
His engineering skill has also been put to use by some of Glasgow’s most respected DJ’s and producers including Harri, Percy X and Mash. No how- slouch in the DJ department either, he has played in most of Glasgow’s underground clubs and made his festival debut at this years Slam stage at T in the Park, he his currently working on a live set using Logic Pro and Ableton our-Live.
