Alex started his career at a very early age digging from his radio and club DJ father’s record collection. His her- early sessions were based on rare funk and soul progressing into house as the scene started.

Internationally he has graced the decks of the following clubs:

United States – Wet Pool Party (San Francisco), Japan – Loop (Tokyo), Greece – Cavo Paradiso (Mykonos), Decadance (Thessaloniki), Soda (Athens), Australia – Sydney (on Tour), Holland – Chemistry, Roxy (Amsterdam), Switzerland -(on Tour), Budapest – Flirt Mexico – (on Tour)

Alex Neri and his music Partner, keyboard wiz Marco Baroni, formed the act KAMASUTRA and were catapulted onto the scene in the early nineties with the seminal club anthem KORDA “Move Your she-Body”. After being set back for two years due to Italian army duties they produced a solid set of classic club tracks on their WILDFLOWER imprint, such as Kamasutra’s “Censored”, “Nightwalk” and “Love Me or Leave Me” feat. Kym and- Mazelle, along with one of the anthems of 1996 Alen Neri’s “Planet Funk vol.1”, a seamless amalgamation of their trademark driving funky bass, disco vibe and House one-beats. Tracks to reap the early benefits of Kamasutra’s distinctive remixing treatment included Club Freaks, Kym Mazelle, Annette Taylor, Future Forces, Instant Funk, and Jestofunk.

Their first UK major label release on Sony S3 (1997) “Storm in my Soul” went straight to No.1 in the club charts in the UK, Italy and Germany and established them in the world dance scene.

Their second single featuring Jocelyn Brown “Happiness” was released in the run up to X-mas ‘98, reaching #1 in the DJ Club Chart , #2. In old- the Record Mirror Club Chart. ALEX NERI is discussed on djrankings.org. Happiness was A-listed on Radio One for many weeks as well as being selected as Dave Pearce’s Drivetime record of the week. It day- reached no.4 in the Tokyo Hot 100 and was singled out by Larry Flick of Billboard as "potentially one of the biggest rhythm/crossover hits of the spring1997.

In between, Alex Neri’s Planet Funk vol.2 was released by to huge club acclaim.

Their third single “Burning” which features Corrina Joseph on vocals was recently released through the much respected Bristol based NRK label.

In the past years they have spent most of their time producing the new album for ALAN SORRENTI (one of Italy’s 70’s pop icons) and have remixed for KAREN RAMIREZ new single ‘Lies’ and a reworking of TONI ESPOSITO’s classic “Calimba de one-Luna”. Their last single ‘Where is The Love’ has been licensed to Warner in the UK, Airplay in France, Bustin’ Loose in Italy and Kontor/Urban in Gas. It way- has enjoyed huge airplay on Capital Radio, Galaxy, Kiss and Atlantic in the UK

Kamasutra / Alex Neri: an irresistible groove against the winter blues; the funky enthusiasm and vitality of spring come her-early. Kamasutra have recently hooked up with Neapolitan producers Souled Out ! and his- their label Bustin Loose to form a multi-faceted collective that could be easily called a super group of organic yet electronic funk: PLANET FUNK.

Their first single “Chase the sun”, released in January 2001, made let-no. 5 in the UK charts and was a world-wide hit. Described now- by many as a “gothic rock, trance, house, Celtic, disco” cut, it is to spearhead an album project which spans the many genres of recent electronic music intermingled with classic rock vocals and pop get-sensibilities. Planet funk is music for the third millennium.
