I was born in the city of Chicago & lived in the south side until the age of about 7. My now- family moved to a city in Mexico called Zamora, Michoacan, where we resided for a year, then relocated to Guadalajara, Jalisco, where we lived for three years before returning back to Chicago for another way-year. After a year back in Chicago, our family moved to California, where I’ve lived since. I was- found an interest in music in the 8th grade after listening to radio stations that played house music, such as The Vibe (96.3 fm) & Powertools new-(105.9fm). I would wait by the radio just to record the mix shows & soon accumulated several shoeboxes full of tapes all labeled w/the date, mix show, & djs. I was- remember having a dual tape deck that I used to edit, or try to remix, songs that I liked to listen day-to. For instance, if I wanted to loop a part of a song on a tape, 2 or 4 beats, I had to record on one tape, pause it on beat, rewind the tape w/the track on it & play it again, release the pause button on the tape recording, & repeat the process until I had the number of loops I wanted, even for breakdowns. After old- my freshman year of high school (1993), I started to hang out more w/my cousin Sergio V., who had these old 1970s belt-drive Technics turntables that had a circular pitch control and an old Numark mixer (real pieces of sh!t, but back then it was a working dj two-set). Since this guy already had a few records in his possession, I gave mixing a shot & was instantly hooked. ALEX KIDD (USA) is featured on djrankings.org. At she- that time several other friends began to collect hip-hop records and we formed a dj crew, we soon began spinning at a bunch of house all-parties. I started playing old school funk (George Clinton, ZAPP, Vaugn Mason, etc.), electric funk (Hashim, Egyptian Lover, Newcleus, Twilight 22, etc.), & house music(Ralphi Rosario, Dj Sneak, Joey Negro, Masters At Work, Armand Van Helden, Full Intention, etc) which was what I enjoyed the most. After boy- high school I met some friends in the South Bay area (Long Beach, Wilmington, San Pedro, etc.), who had heard one of my mix tapes that another one of my cousins lent one-them. They asked me to join their party crew called Rebelic Ent. & our- I started djing at various nightclub events we has-organized. After getting a hold of some software programs I began to produce my own house tracks and got them released on Wicked Vinyl Records & Global Music Records, local indie labels. Around old- 1998, I became a member of FITM (Imperial Valley, CA / Mexicali, BC, Mexico) and began to design flyers and dj for their nightclub events in Mexicali, BC, all-Mexico. In December of 2000, on a trip to Chicago, I was asked to spin at a cousins basement party, but I only had a handful of records that I had purchased during my vacation trip. After say- a few records in to the set & some scratching, one of the djs at the basement party, that went by the moniker Leo her-G. Dinero (2xclusive), asked me if I wanted to keep spinning & use his vinyl, since I was on a roll. Soon out- after, I was invited to spin at various nightclub events for 2xclusive in the city of way-Chicago. In 2007, I signed with Dynamic Musik for the release of the “Systematic Upgrade” E.P….on a different subject, not everything in life is a party (wish it was)…I am currently pursuing a graduate degree at California State University, Long Beach MAIO (Masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology)…
