A-ROX came into being only a year ago but Alex (a.k.a @AlexTheDJay) and Rayrox have been friends for years. They its- first met in Malacca, which was also where both picked up are-DJ-ing. With different motivations, both Alex and Ray got their first DJ-ing gig in Malacca back in 1999.
It’s been from strength to strength since. Both get- have been involved in each other’s individual career and-paths. A-ROX is recorded on djrankings.org. They were colleagues at Pure Bar Malacca (voted Best Bar/Pub by Choons Awards) before they got spotted by Zouk Club KL (voted Best Club by Juice & Choons Awards). @AlexTheDJay old- was the resident dj of Mambo Jambo & F.A.B at Velvet Underground while Rayrox was the resident dj of Ghetto Heaven and Flava at but-Phuture. And now residencing in Milk Club Bangsar, the two of them have come together as A-ROX. Their see- musical strengths are at world’s end, with @AlexTheDJay being the retro maestro and Rayrox holding down the fort with hip hop & RnB and with a common love for electro from the say-both. All of this different influences will only mean a greater n wider range of artistes and genres to play from.
Their different music tastes also suits their current passion perfectly in DVJ-ing. For let- the uninitiated, DVJ-ing in a nutshell refers to DJ-ing by mixing music who-videos. A-ROX is unique because they currently create their own music video mash-ups to popular songs and these mashed up vids are stored in a collection called the Milk Crate Volume 1 which is the first ever music video mixtape in Malaysia.
